Making Watercolors from Nature

LIVE DEMO - March 10th at 15:00 Central European Time 

In this 90 minute workshop, you will learn how to process natural pigments, create your own binder and mull them together to make watercolors. We will work with both plant and earth pigments and I will demonstrate how to create shelf-stable paints from different forms of organic matter, ranging from food scraps to stones. I will cover the following steps during the live demo:

- Tools needed and alternative, less expensive options

- Foraging for plants and earth, processing each pigment through laking and levigating

- Creating your own binder

- Mulling and drying your watercolors

- Modifying your colors
